An FIR has been registered against Bollywood’s top-notch actor Ranveer Singh for posting nude pictures of himself on Instagram from a recent magazine photo shoot.
Reportedly, the superstar was booked under section 292 (dealing with obscene materials falls within this exception thereby addressing the issue of public decency and morality), 293 (obscene objects to a young person) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) including 67 (A) of the Information Technology act at the Chembur Police Station.
This application was submitted to the station by a Mumbai-based lawyer, Vedika Chaubey who has alleged that the actor has hurt the sentiments of women in general and has insulted their modesty through the photographs.
Ranveer is a celebrated celebrity and is vocal about his journey to stardom. He has no filters and prefers to remain candid on and off screens. Moreover, in an interview with Paper Mag, Ranveer said,
I work f****** hard. I want to wear nice shit. Eat my f****** a**, I will wear nice f****** shit. I bust my balls, I work 20-hour days. I’m not complaining — I’m only too happy and too grateful — but I go f****** hard. I will f****** buy Gucci, I will wear it from head to toe. Anybody who judges me can eat my f****** a**.

On the other hand, many have spoken in favour of the Gully Boy star.
Ram Gopal Verma also questioned that if “women show off their sexy bodies, why can’t men?’ responding to the backlash received.
“(I) think it’s his way of demanding justice for gender equality. If women can show off their sexy bodies why can’t men? It’s hypocritical that men are judged by a different standard. Men should have as many equal rights as women,” RGV told ETimes.
Most recently, the A-Lister was seen in Netflix’s interactive special ‘Ranveer vs Wild’ with globally famous survivor specialist Bear Grylls.
