Forhan’s Walkathon Pakistan is a force to engage girls and women across Pakistan in incentivized walkathons to stay active and healthy. It is the biggest Women’s Walkathon in Pakistan’s history. The initiative was founded by Ebba Qureshi, wife of Azhar Mahmood, with Connected Women in collaboration with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The pandemic has wreaked havoc in our lives and has affected our livelihoods in many ways. However, for women, it is an even more significant gap when it comes to gender bias. With gyms not being safe and most of us spending our days inside, staying active amid the coronavirus pandemic has become a challenge. But now, Walkathon Pakistan invites women to take steps towards wellness.

Female cricket captain Sana Mir is also promoting Walkathon as walking is the best form of exercise during the pandemic.
The core idea behind the initiative is to encourage all women and girls to walk, which is an effective and affordable activity for the purpose of health and fitness. Walking wards off heart disease brings up the heart rate, lowers blood pressure, and strengthens the heart.

High-profile guests will be joining women at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, including female cricket captain Sana Mir, current chief selector for women’s cricket Urooj Mumtaz, Marina Iqbal, Imam ul Haq, Wahab Riaz, and Zainab Abbas, who are also seen promoting the event on different social media platforms.
Shahid Afridi was also seen promoting the event on Walkathon Pakistan’s Official Instagram.

A total of 11 players will be picked from the 16 nominated by the ICC for Women’s ODI XI and Men’s ODI XI for the decade.
