Pakistani women such as Rabeeah Diwan are making all of us proud by establishing their very own businesses. Diwan is an entrepreneur and founder of Raco Chocolate.
She was previously an intern at Dr. Ziauddin Hospital and a part-time Community Development Educator at NutriKids UBC.
She received her Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from The University of British Columbia as an honour-roll student.

The cocoa beans used in her chocolate come from the main supplier in Tanzania. Not only does Raco provide delish chocolates to its customers but is also creating livelihood for farmers as well.
They also have farmers supplying beans from Ghana and the Dominican Republic.

The other ingredients including sugar and milk are locally sourced. Raco is a bean-to-bar chocolate idea that started with a single aim: to make great chocolate right here in Karachi, Pakistan.
She experimented her way while breaking a couple of blenders along the way until she came across the perfect blend, 15 tries did the trick.
According to the brand, every batch of beans is roasted to develop complex flavours, cracked to remove the shells and obtain the cocoa nibs, winnowed, ground and tempered to produce the bars. The chocolate bars come in different flavours including Cinamon Crunch (50% dark chocolate), Cookies and Cream (33% white chocolate), Rock Salt (70% dark), Chai Biscuit (40% milk), fruit, Nut & Sea Salt (70%), amongst others.
Diwan found it hard to come up with a name when she initially decided to turn her hobby into a business, after thinking for a very long time and on the verge of giving up, she decided to name it simple and similar to coco, hence Raco.
