The Ruet-i-Hilal Research Council (RHRC) has announced that Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 will be celebrated on Saturday, 22 April throughout Pakistan.
The Secretary-General of the council, Khalid Ijaz Mufti, has disclosed that the committee will gather to sight the Shawwal moon on Thursday, 20 April. However, the chances of sighting the moon that evening are slim.
If the Shawwal moon is seen on Thursday, then Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, 21 April. Nonetheless, as stated by Mufti, Eid is more likely to be celebrated on 22 April after observing the 30-day fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
As per the council, the moon will be born on Thursday, 20 April, at 9:13 a.m. Pakistan time. The Mufti has also pointed out that any reports of crescent moon sightings on 20 April would be erroneous.
