Karachi: Nabeel Qureshi, Hira Mani & Crew Harassed, Attacked & Robbed

In an unfortunate incident, Filmmaker Nabeel Qureshi and his crew were attacked by a mob during a shoot on set in Jamshed Quarters, Martin Road in Karachi’s PIB Colony on Monday night.

According to the account, Qureshi along with  Hira Mani, Salman Saquib (Mani) and Gul-e-Rana, along with others and the crew members were robbed and filming gear was stolen.

Reportedly, they had lodged an FIR at PIB Police Station, after which SSP East Zubair Nazeer Sheikh announced that 6 individuals have been arrested.

Nabeel Qureshi took to Twitter to give his first-hand account of the terrifying incident that took place. He wrote:

We have been attacked by mov in PIB Colony/Jamshed Quater martin road during the shoot they got into the house we were shooting a hundred people they harrases women/actresses, beat the shit out of the crew, and stole mobiles, and equipment. We are sitting here in PIB police station, they attacked like anything honestly this never happened before in Karachi, they were equipped with weapons, they stole mobiles wallet they do not care about ladies they raise their hands etc.

As the incident went viral, several showbiz stars including Mahira Khan, Ahsan Khan, Osman Khalid Butt and others denounced the violent act and raised their vocals for the safety of showbiz stars.

Hira Mani Robbery Incident in Karachi

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that Hira Mani has been a victim of such an incident before. The actress turned to her social media with a CCTV footage of two men on bikes ambushing her and her two sons outside of their home. They robbed her at gunpoint and rode away with her mobile phone and other costly belongings.

Following the incident, the Yakeen Ka Safar star, in a message to the muggers, said on her social media: “Dear mobile snatcher, I forgive you.”
