Qaumi Sehat Card is still providing uninterrupted and free-of-cost medical services/treatments across Pakistan.
After PDM ousted the former Prime Minister Imran Khan, reports of schemes introduced under his administration, such as the Qaumi Sehat card, were speculated to be discontinued. Many on social media, including those who support Imran Khan, were furious after discovering that the Qaumi Sehat Card has been suspended and hospitals have stopped treating patients receiving medical care under it.
Addressing the general public’s concern, the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) has stated as per a report published by Dawn that “around 17,000 patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last two days and availed free of cost treatment.”
The statement said, “Under the Sehat Sahulat Programme, families are able to get free treatment from empanelled public and private hospitals all across Pakistan. All hospitals empanelled with Sehat Sahulat Programme continue to provide free-of-cost hospitalization services to all citizens as per an agreement. There were around 9,000 hospital admissions on Friday and 8,000 on Saturday (April 9) across Pakistan under the programme.”
It further stated, “any social media messages to the contrary are patently false, malicious and baseless. In case of any problem, please call toll-free helpline 080009009 or approach the relevant hospital’s Sehat card counter for prompt assistance.”
The medical services under the card include treatment of:
- Cardiovascular problems
