On Monday, PM Imran Khan inaugurated the Ehsaas Saving Wallets initiative in the capital.
At the inaugural ceremony, PM Khan praised the Ehsaas programme for securing the fourth spot on the World Bank list, “I praise Ehsaas programme for making it possible. We used technology to help everyone.”
The programme has been looking out in a transparent manner of the more vulnerable segments of the society during the ongoing pandemic.

The Prime Minister, Imran Khan, said that poverty-stricken women are the excluded segment of our society, digitally and financially. With the Ehsaas Saving Wallets Ehsaas Bachat Bank Account Initiative, this segment of society will be able to save their stipends for the first time in history.
“I believe savings can help families to climb out of poverty.” He added, “access to saving accounts is often the first step towards broader financial inclusion. We cannot become great if we continue to ignore our poor.”
The key features of the initiative have been briefed. As of now, the beneficiaries of Ehsaas Kafaalat will have the option of either draw their money or save it into digital wallets.
One Woman One Bank Account Policy
The main purpose of the programme launched by the government is to encourage savings which will help ease the poverty of poorer women. On the other hand, the program will deepen the financial inclusion inaugurated under the ‘One Woman One Bank Account Policy.’ Ehsaas programme’s key goals include financial inclusion and unlocking the potential of millions of disadvantaged Pakistani women.
Dr. Sania Nishtar, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, gave a detailed brief on the Ehsaas programme and the saving wallets initiative.
“Coming under the umbrella of Ehsaas, the Bachat Account initiative will also focus on the financial literacy of Kafaalat beneficiaries to ensure that women draw maximum benefits from this empowering initiative. The initiative will help the marginalized people plan for everything from long-term goals to unexpected emergencies,” she said.
