There is no doubt that Pakistan has highly talented and intelligent students when it comes to young individuals. No matter where they go, they utilize it and show results once they have an opportunity. One such group of Pakistan students from the popular Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) has achieved astonishing success globally.
Pakistani students beat the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Stanford University in the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics Contest.
U.S. Embassy Islamabad lauded the group for their latest achievement. In a tweet, they said: “Congrats to Team Invictus, a group of Pakistani students from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute, for winning 2nd place in the 2021 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (Design, Build and Fly) competition, beating MIT & Stanford!”

Students from all across the globe participated in the competition, which included renowned institutions such as MIT, UC Berkeley, and Stanford. In the competition, Pakistani students bagged the 2nd position in Design, Build and Fly competition.
The 2021 iteration of the competition aimed to build and test a UAV with a towed sensor. All student teams were tasked to design, fabricate and demonstrate the capabilities of their unmanned radio-controlled aircraft. They design it to meet a specific mission objective.
The Competition is Ongoing!
The 2021 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics competition is ongoing; the final round will take place April 16-19. We wish all Pakistani teams, including Team Invictus, which won 2nd place in the first round, good luck! We can’t wait to see the final results!
