Pakistani celebrities support ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan after a parliamentary revolt unseated him.
They have been vocal about their disappointment on social media regarding the no-confidence motion against the former premier on March 8. The vote ousted the PM, leading to a handful of celebrities joining peaceful protests across the country while many lent their support online.
Thousands came out on the road last night to support Imran Khan. In the history of Pakistan, no one has witnessed such a crowd come out so spontaneously and in such numbers in our history, rejecting the opposition.
“Thank you to all Pakistanis for their amazing outpouring of support & emotions to protest against US-backed regime change abetted by local Mir Jafar’s to bring into power a coterie of pliable crooks all out on bail. Shows Pakistanis at home & abroad have emphatically rejected this”, tweeted Imran Khan.

Pakistani singer Annie Khalid present at the protest, highlighted that at the jalsa she “saw random ppl distributing water/cold juices to ppl. Women were protected by random strangers who formed circles around them. Men were making chains with their arms to help women with kids. It was heartwarming. This is Imran Khan’s Pakistan. #LibertyChowk”

Actress Hina Odho wrote in a social media post, “Time to stand by @imrankhan.pti if we want to keep Pakistan in safe hands and independent of foreign interference. He should have been allowed to complete his term, but these political crooks knew that if he did, he would not spare them. So they sold out to save themselves and didn’t give a damn about what would happen to #Pakistan. What would be more shameful than their behavior would be us not speaking out at this time! Don’t go down in history as a nation that didn’t care. Pakistan Zindabad !!!!”
Veteran actress Hina Khwaja Bayat also lent her support to Imran Khan. She wrote, “One man stood alone for the integrity & sovereignty of Pakistan…..and all the institutions came together to bring him down & give an NRO to the corrupt political mafia – deeply saddened by the #pakarmy”.
She added, “@imrankhan.pti you are still the PM we voted for…..we will bring you back insha’Allah….and if we don’t, then “verily we are from the wrongdoers. May Allah Ta’ala forgive us & have mercy on our beloved #Pakistan.”
Zara Noor Abbas, Shahroz Sabzwari, Azfar Rehman, Sarwat Gilani, Usama Khan, and Sana Javed updated their stories last night on Instagram with footage from last night’s protests held across the country.
Singer Asim Azhar thanked PDM for helping the public identify the importance of Imran Khan. He tweeted, “Look what you’ve done PDM.. you’ve made Pakistan realize the importance of @ImranKhanPTI even more. Thank you. Can’t wait for the next elections!”
