The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has announced a scholarship opportunity for Pakistani and AJ&K nationals to pursue Master’s and PhD studies at the University Politehnica Bucharest in Romania for the academic year 2024-25.
This scholarship is offered by the Romanian Government and is aimed at students in the fields of Engineering and Information Technology.
The University of Politehnica Bucharest is offering a range of Master’s programs in various engineering disciplines. These programs include Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication and Information Technology, Aerospace Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Computer & Information Technology, System Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Applied Engineering Science, and Engineering and Management.
This scholarship provides an excellent opportunity for Pakistani and AJ&K nationals to further their education and gain valuable knowledge and skills in the field of engineering and IT.
Eligibility Criteria for HEC introduced scholarship:
- Degree Requirements: Applicants with incomplete degrees at the closing date of the application are ineligible to apply.
- Master’s Program Eligibility: Candidates applying for Master’s programs must hold a Bachelor’s degree (16 years) and be under the age of 35 at the time of application.
- PhD Program Eligibility: Candidates applying for PhD/Doctoral programs must hold a Master’s degree (MS/MPhil – 17/18 years) and be under the age of 40 at the time of application.
- Test Score Requirement: All applicants must provide a valid HAT test score. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) reserves the right to change or modify the nomination criteria.

- Registration and Profile Creation: Visit https://scholarship.hec.gov.pk/ to register and create your profile. Ensure to select “University of Politehnica Scholarship” from the available options.
- Online Application Submission: Once your profile is complete, submit your application through the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest web portal at https://apply.upb.ro/.
- Deadline: The deadline to submit your online application on the HEC portal is 3rd May 2024. Please ensure to complete all steps before the deadline to be considered for the scholarship.
