Some netizens had theories of their own!
This is not hacking, we call it cloud messaging, it looks like Indian developers have worked in bykea and they have access to Firebase or any other BaaS, this usually happens when the client denies to pay for work.#bykea#ImranKhanPTI#CycloneBiparjoyUpdate#boycott#bykeahacked pic.twitter.com/DOWUPI6dmW

Bykea App Hacked: How Worse Could it Have Been?
With the bykea app hacked, let’s take a look at how serious this hack could have been and the consequences of such a hack. As we are now aware, the bykea app was restored successfully and the breach did not compromise the security of the users but only sent them offensive messages.
However, here are three common outcomes of an unauthorised security breach on a ride-hailing app:
User Data Breached
The hack could have resulted in the exposure of personal information such as names, phone numbers, email addresses, and even financial details of users. This puts users at risk of identity theft, fraud, and other malicious activities.
Financial loss
If the hack would have involved financial data, such as credit card details, users may also suffer financial losses due to unauthorised transactions or fraud.
Service disruption
In some cases, a breach may lead to disruptions in the app’s services, causing inconvenience to users. This can include temporary suspension of operations, downtime for system repairs, or delays in providing the ride-hailing service.
