Congratulations Pakistan, Gilgit-Baltistan’s Noorima Rehan will be representing the country at King Charles III’s Coronation Concert.
Noorima announced this big news on her social media account with the caption, ‘How lucky I am that I am going to represent Pakistan in the coronation concert to the majesties king and queen of the UK.’
Moreover, the concert will be attended by members of the British royal family. The concert will be held on the grounds of Windsor Castle on the evening of Sunday, May 7, the day after the Coronation.

Noorima Rehan will be performing with an orchestra that will represent the Wakhi GB culture and will wear traditional clothing as well.

Noorima Rehan initially went viral after video clips of her singing circulated on social media towards the end of January 2023. She beautifully crooned Asha Bhosle’s song In Ankhon Ki Masti from the 1981 film Umrao Jaan.
The video was shared on the Instagram page All Gilgit. “A girl from Mountains with pure vocals,” read the caption shared alongside the video.
King Charles III Conoration Ceremony
The coronation ceremony, which is set for tomorrow, 6th May 2023, will be much smaller than the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
BUCKINGHAM PALACE
Only 2,000 guests will be invited, including members of the royal family, foreign leaders and dignitaries, as well as British political figures and 850 individuals recognized for their charitable contributions.
Buckingham Palace has announced that Prince Harry will attend the coronation, while Meghan Markle and their children will remain in California.
During the ceremony, Prince Charles and Camilla will travel from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach, a six-horse-drawn carriage that was first used in 2014.
They will then return to Buckingham Palace in the Gold State Coach, an eight-horse-drawn carriage that has been used in every coronation since King William IV’s in 1831.
What Will Happen During the Coronation Ceremony?
During the coronation procession at the Abbey, the Cross of Wales will lead, containing fragments of a relic known as the “True Cross,” which Pope Francis gifted to King Charles as a coronation gift.
The Archbishop of Canterbury will conduct the service, which will consist of six key elements. At the start of the service, King Charles will stand beside the Coronation Chair as the Archbishop of Canterbury presents him to the congregants.
The congregation will shout “God Save King Charles!” However, the Coronation Chair, which is an oak chair that is 700 years old, is extremely fragile.
King Charles will then swear to uphold the Church of England and the law. The Archbishop of Canterbury will ask him four questions, to which Charles will reply in the affirmative.

He will end with, “I Charles do solemnly and sincerely in the presence of God profess, testify, and declare that I am a faithful Protestant and that I will, according to the true intent of the enactments which secure the Protestant succession to the Throne, uphold and maintain the said enactments to the best of my powers according to law.”
Next, King Charles will remove his ceremonial robe and sit in the Coronation Chair, and then the Archbishop of Canterbury will anoint him with holy oil.
The Patriarch of Jerusalem and the Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem consecrated the oil at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre earlier this year. Unlike Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953, the anointing will not be filmed at Charles’s coronation and will be a private moment.
King Charles will then be presented with two sceptres and an Orb. One sceptre, The Sovereign’s Sceptre with Dove, represents his spiritual role, and the other, The Sovereign’s Sceptre with Cross, represents his temporal power and good governance. The orb represents “religious and moral authority.”
A coronation ring will also be placed on Charles’s right hand. After being presented with all his regalia, the Archbishop will place St. Edward’s Crown on King Charles’s head.
After being presented with the regalia, the Archbishop will say, “Stand firm and hold fast from henceforth this seat of royal dignity, which is yours by the authority of Almighty God. May that same God, whose throne endures forever, establish your throne in righteousness, that it may stand fast for evermore.”
Historically, royal blood princes, the Archbishop, and other senior peers kneel to pay homage and swear allegiance to the monarch. At King Charles’s coronation, it will begin with a homage of the Church, followed by the homage of royal blood, which will be performed by his son, Prince William. Then, whoever wants to participate can pay homage to the people.
