Vogue France has made it to headlines after it was criticized for glorifying Julia Fox’s headscarf amidst the ban on hijab in France for Muslim women.
Many have deemed this as hypocritical behavior by the publication who praised the headpiece of the model, yet, not call upon the state which banned the same piece of cloth for Muslim women. This has negatively impacted Muslim women as they are not given the freedom of choice to practice their beliefs.
With a picture of Julia Fox donning an all-black outfit paired with a headscarf and sunglasses, the caption that has now been deleted read: “Yes to the headscarf!”
Internet Users are also calling out the publication for its hypocrisy:

In a since edited post, Vogue France shared this photo of Julia Fox with the caption “yes to the headscarf!”.

In 2020, Muslim countries boycotted French products throughout the globe after the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, defended illustrations of Mohammad (PBUH) in a French magazine. The French President backed Prophet PBUH’s blasphemous cartoons to be republished in a weekly satirical French magazine called Charlie Hebdo.
The government justified the decision as ‘freedom of speech.’ This decision subsequently provoked outbursts in Muslim communities worldwide. In Muslim societies, depictions of the Prophet are considered offensive.

Muslim countries are calling out for a complete boycott of french products after the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, on Sunday defended his stance in a tweet that read, “We will not give in, ever.” Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordon, and Qatar, have joined the boycott, whereas Qatar and Kuwait have already removed all french products from the markets.
