The world’s third-largest sportswear manufacture, PUMA, has signed Pakistan’s explosive middle-order batter, Asif Ali as brand ambassador.
The German multinational corporation is popular for already bagging many cricketers as their brand ambassadors across the globe. These include Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan, India’s Test captain, Virat Kohli, and former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum.
Editor of Pak passion announced the news on Twitter. He wrote, “Asif Ali has become the first Pakistani cricketer to become an ambassador for Puma Cricket after signing a 2-year deal with one of the largest sportswear manufacturers in the world #Cricket.”

From Pakistan, Asif Ali is the first cricketer signed by the sportswear manufacturing company.

PUMA quoted his tweet welcoming him to the PUMA Family. “Welcome to the #PUMAFam @AasifAli2018! Ready to take over,” the tweet read.

In Pakistan’s cricket history, it is safe to say that this sponsorship deal with an international company is significant. In the past, other cricketers have also been associated with international companies. These include Pakistan captain Babar Azam, and wicket-keeper batter, Mohammad Rizwan, who were signed by cricket equipment manufacturing company, Gray-Nicolls.
PUMA is the world’s third-largest sportswear manufacturer after Nike and Adidas. It is currently sponsoring some of the world’s biggest international sports stars, including Brazilian football star Neymar, the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt. It sponsors top football clubs such as AC Milan, Manchester City, and Borussia Dortmund.
