Kaftans have seemed to garner a fan following, whether is it summer or winter. From top Pakistani actresses to influencers, we have witnessed everyone donning a kaftan recently.
Kaftans are loosely-fit, freely-flowing, and yet always flattering. This particular style is so adaptable that you can wear it on the beach and a formal occasion, despite what some people think. Of course, only by choosing appropriate colours and cloth deemed appropriate.
There are many kinds of Kaftans that can be styled differently each time. Below are a few suggestions:
Printed Kaftan Made out of Cotton Fabric with Mirror Work on Neckline
Kaftan made out of printed cotton with a minimalistic neck for an evening tea or a casual afternoon at home with friends and family. These can easily replace shalwar kameez when the temperatures are soaring high. I kid you not.
Fancy Kaftan with Statement Jewellery
Little embroidered Kaftan paired with statement jewellery piece also works well
Tie & Dye Style Kaftan
Tie and dye items are already in fashion, whether it’s a matching pair of shalwar kameez, a dupatta, or just a casual shirt. However, to elevate it further, a tie and dye style kaftan changes the game.
All white Cotton Kaftan is the most versatile piece you will ever invest in
Great for lounging around the house
Sheer Kaftan for the Beach
Of course, shorter Kaftan’s are made for the beach, so they are a great choice to put on top of a tank top and a pair of shorts. This can be pulled with shorter sleeves or even longer, whatever rides your boat.
Printed Silk Kaftan with a Sash or Belt Around
A printed beach kaftan with a shorter length works well with a belt or a sash gives the outfit more definition. Particularly great for vacations.
Kaftans can also be worn with creme of white pants for an everyday look – Can be worn to work too
Particularly in summers, women tend to run out of ideas as to what they can wear which is summer-friendly, yet trendy. In situations such as this, a kaftan made of any lightweight cloth would do.
Kaftan made out of Crepe Fabric
Lightweight and airy for a perfect evening in humid weather. Can be paired with loose curls and stilettos. You may add a clutch to oomph the look.
A Hybrid Between a Kaftan and Shirtdress
This item may also work well at beach parties, water parks etc. The colors are absolutely phenomenal.
On a Special Occasion – Great for Formal Settings
If all that wasn’t enough, Kaftan’s have officially taken over special occasions too with long lengths, embroidery and mirror work detailing all over. These work great mainly because of the weather here. So whether it is a wedding you need to attend or don it on Eid, it can easily impress and turn heads.
You Can Pair Shorter Kaftan with Jeans
Kaftans can also be worn on top of jeans given that they are knee-length. These make great summer outfits too
Kaftans with a Slit
Kaftans may also look fabulous with slits. Even the cloth in the picture below is not summer-friendly, however, the style sure as hell is.
Boat Neck Sleeve Kaftan Similar to an Oversized Maxi Dress
These will work pretty well too with some statement jewellery as solid colours are also trending at this time of the year.
Scrunchies From the 90s Back in Fashion: Summer 2021 Hair-Accessory Trend. Read the full story here:
I remember scrunchies from the time I was in school, somewhere between 2000-05. My mom tied my hair with one every morning, which I despised, but I had to participate in the cringe-worthy fashion trend for her sake. I remember reaching to school and taking it off instantly to wear a rubber band before class.
