In response to recent concerns circulating in the media about visa restrictions for Pakistani citizens, particularly residents of Sindh, UAE Consul General Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi has provided reassurance that there are no new limitations in place.
In a video statement addressing the issue, Dr Remeithi emphasized the ongoing support that the UAE provides to Pakistani businessmen, laborers, and those travelling for medical purposes. He noted that visa applicants travelling to key cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah continue to receive the necessary assistance. “The UAE has always maintained strong cultural, religious, and trade relations with Pakistan, and provides full support for Pakistani applicants seeking visas,” Dr. Remeithi stated.
This assurance comes at a time when reports have surfaced of difficulties faced by residents of Sindh in obtaining visas to the UAE. Dr. Remeithi’s statement aims to dispel these concerns and reaffirm the UAE’s commitment to its longstanding relationship with Pakistan.
Launch of a Special Awareness Program
To further assist travellers, Dr. Remeithi announced the launch of a special awareness program at the Karachi Consulate. This initiative is designed to educate and guide travelers on the importance of avoiding prohibited items and ensuring their luggage is packed correctly. The aim is to prevent any issues that might arise during travel, ensuring a smooth experience for all passengers.
In addition to addressing these immediate concerns, Dr. Remeithi revealed that the UAE is also planning to introduce a new program specifically tailored to the business community. This upcoming initiative will provide comprehensive support for Pakistani entrepreneurs looking to conduct business in the UAE, as well as facilitate opportunities for UAE companies to expand their ventures into Pakistan.
The UAE’s commitment to fostering positive relations with Pakistan remains strong, with ongoing efforts to support and enhance the experiences of Pakistani citizens travelling to or conducting business in the UAE.
