Netizens Call Out Yawar Iqbal for Disrespecting Bushra Bibi by Dressing as Her for Halloween

Budding actor Yawar Iqbal has landed in hot waters after photos of him dressed as former Prime Minister’s wife, Bushra Bibi, went viral.

Iqbal thought it would be funny to dress as the former premier’s wife for Halloween, however, netizens did not enjoy the joke and found it highly disrespectful.

Moreover, instead of being cryptic and subliminal, he openly displayed his costume and gave major hints about who he was dressed as.

Even actress cum model Areeba Habib shared Yawar’s look on her Instagram story with the caption ‘Bushra Bibi’.

‘Every day people in this country amaze me with new low they can touch. You all are thinking that this is Bushra Bibi. I thought the same. But this is costume artist Syed Yawar Iqbal, who dressed like Bushra Bibi for a Halloween party. I mean how low on can go?’

‘Highly condemnable behaviour from Yawar Iqbal and all those “progressives” cheering this sheer mockery of Bushra Bibi’s Hijab. Your feminism is selective if you support women who are forced to wear Hijab but mock a free-willed Hijab. Don’t use women to get back at men!’

On the other hand, netizens have also bashed Areeba Habib as to how she could let something like this happen and not speak up about it.

‘A woman like #AreebaHabib must feel she is down in the pits of the Earth to attempt to dehumanise another so she can feel she herself has some value. That’s extremely sad for Areeba – why such low self-worth? Duas for her for a better healthier state of mind. Ameen.’
