Pakistan actress and host Nadia Khan slammed back at politician Sharmila Faruqui with Rs. 500m lawsuit with a legal notice after she served Khan Rs. 50m defamation notice earlier last week.
It looks like the two public personalities are up for a very public legal battle. Within 24 hours of the defamation suit, Khan has gotten back to Sharmila with a legal notice. Khan took it to her Instagram to announce the news on Sunday.
She wrote, “My Lawyers are sending a LEGAL NOTICE to Sharmila Faruqui suing her for 50 crores (Rs. 500m) for defamation and using insulting remarks for a woman.” The morning show host bashed the politician and said, “I wish if she had done only one good deed for any needy woman or a helpless child, She would still have got the media and our attention.”
Khan believes that Faruqi is trying to get everyone’s attention in the media. As reported, Khan said, “the matter could have been resolved after she deleted the video, but now she will go to court. Sharmila Faruqui was fond of taking pictures, and now she would have the opportunity to take more photos at the court.”
What Happened?
A clip of Nadia Khan with Sharmila Faruqui’s mother, Anisa Faruqui, started making rounds on social media last week. In the clip, Khan can be seen investigating Anisa appa regarding her makeup, jewelry, and clothes. Many, including Sharmila, believe that Khan insulted and mocked Anisa appa in the clip.
Since the clip went viral on social media, many internet users mocked Anisa appa, too, while others were shocked at what Khan was up to.
Sharmila Faruqi also commented underneath the clip, saying, “She’s a shameless woman, I’m reporting her to cybercrime officially.”
