Lahore District and Sessions Judge Jazeela Aslam’s expertise has been allocated to the Supreme Court as a Registrar, appointed by Chief Justice of Pakistan,Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
Ms. Aslam has assumed the role of the Supreme Court’s registrar on a three-year deputation, marking a significant milestone as the first woman ever to hold this prestigious office.
A notification in this regard has been issued after the approval of Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti.
The notification was issued by LHC Registrar Khalid Bashir.

Before assuming the role of Registrar at the Supreme Court, Jazeela Aslam held the position of District and Sessions Judge in Okara. Prior to that, she served in similar capacities in Kasur and Sialkot. She holds the distinction of being the most senior female District and Sessions Judge in Punjab. Her appointment aligns with constitutional principles, emphasizing the separation of the Judiciary from the Executive. It’s worth noting that she surpasses the minimum qualifications and experience requirements outlined in the Supreme Court Establishment Service Rules of 2015.
Adding to her professional capabilities, Ms Aslam is a mother of three and has a strong educational background where she achieved first distinction honors in her Bachelor’s degree from Kinnaird College and completed her LLB from Punjab University. She also secured the 2nd position in the competitive judicial examination of Punjab.

Additionally, she has fulfilled the role of an educator at the Federal Judicial Academy, as well as held the position of Academic Director at the Punjab Judicial Academy. Notably, in 2019, Ms. Aslam penned a comprehensive document titled ‘Guidelines for Crafting Judicial Decisions’ intended for civil judges. Furthermore, in the year 2020, she compiled a detailed report addressing women’s entitlement to inheritance rights.
