- Women on Wheels Program: Led by CTO Beenish Fatima in Rawalpindi, this initiative trains women in scooter and motorcycle driving, focusing on enhancing mobility for students and teachers while supporting the Chief Minister’s vision of women’s empowerment.
- Key Goals: These programs aim to help women travel independently to educational institutions and workplaces, reduce reliance on others, and build confidence through skill development in driving and vehicle maintenance.
The Punjab Chief Minister has launched significant initiatives to provide women with independent, dignified, and empowering employment opportunities.
Driving schools have been established at several key locations, including Greater Iqbal Park, Kahna Misaq Centre, Township, and the Police Khidmat Center in Bahria Town.
Additional schools are located at Liberty Khidmat Markaz, Manawan Traffic Lines, Defense Khidmat Markaz, and Barkat Market.
Notably, the Abshar Driving School on Jail Road and the Women on Wheels School on LOS Ferozepur Road have been set up specifically for women.
Chief Traffic Officer Lahore, Amara Athar, shared that these driving schools are exclusively run by women for women. In addition to driving lessons, participants will receive training in basic electrical and mechanical skills as part of the curriculum.
The “Ride for Change” initiative also introduces scooter training at various universities and colleges, aiming to enhance women’s mobility and confidence.

In Rawalpindi, the “Women on Wheels” program, led by Chief Traffic Officer Beenish Fatima, offers specialized scooter and motorcycle driving training for women.
This program supports the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for women’s empowerment and invites participants from the Girls Guide House to join training sessions conducted at the institute.
The program’s launch included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, with approximately 25 participants expected to benefit initially.
CTO Fatima emphasized that the initiative aims to promote independence by equipping women with driving skills, enabling them to travel to educational institutions and workplaces without needing external support.
The program also encourages women teachers from Rawalpindi and nearby areas to enroll, further fostering mobility and self-reliance.
