First Woman Police Officer to Receive The International Police Peacekeeper Award by the United Nations, DSP Shahzadi Gulfam is honoured by LUX HUM Women Leaders Award 2021 for shattering gender-based stereotype and outstanding contribution. Women who have achieved greater things such as the DCP are appreciated by the fraternity and are presented with an award for their excellence in their field of work.
DSP Shahzadi Gulfam is the first woman police officer to receive The International Police Peacekeeper Award by the United Nations. She received her LUX HUM Women Leaders Award 2021 from Dr Fahmida Mirza and Noman Ejaz for her outstanding contributions to various UN missions, for shattering a gender-based stereotype.
Shahzadi Gulfam has served in several UN peacekeeping missions. She was awarded the first-ever UN International Female Police Peacekeeper Award for her many years of achievements in August 2011 by the United Nations Police Division in the Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions (OROLSI), Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO), and the International Association of Women Police (IAWP) and, International Scholarship Committee.
The achievements included supervising 150 police officers handling criminal investigations and being the first female to represent Pakistan in the UN’s Mission to Bosnia Herzegovina in 1997. She has also served in UN Missions in Kosovo in 1999 and Timor-Leste in 2007. Gulam joined Punjab Police in March 1985 after she completed her education. During her career, she has performed outstandingly both national and internationally.

Celebrities like the singer Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch, Umair Jaswal, and Strings performed at the Hum Women Leaders Award 2021. Other media personalities were also present. The honourable guest of the award function was President Arif Alvi and his wife.
