Batool Ijaz, a spirited entrepreneur from Karachi, Pakistan, has carved out a unique space for herself in the picturesque valleys of Indian-administered Kashmir with none other than the crown jewel of Pakistan – its rich delicious food that is loved world over!
In 2015, Batool tied the knot and moved to her new home in Srinagar, (Indian occupied Kashmir). Leaving behind the city of lights, Karachi, she embraced the beautiful but culturally distinct environment of Kashmir. Despite the challenges of adapting to a new way of life, new environment and culture, Batool brought along the vibrant culinary traditions of Karachi, Pakistan and little did she know, these traditions would soon become her entrepreneurial calling which she would pursue with a passion.
What started as a small endeavor to provide Pakistani dishes on a modest scale has now blossomed into a thriving small-scale restaurant. Batool initially catered to a close-knit community, offering delicacies like chapli kebabs, and nihari. Her offerings quickly gained popularity, thanks to their authenticity and rich flavors that she brought back from Karachi. Encouraged by the enthusiastic response she received from the people of Srinagar, she decided to take the leap and set up her own restaurant in the heart of Kashmir after her in-laws encouraged her with praises of her delicious dishes.
