Apple has announced the launch date of the new iPhone 12 where it will reveal the phone at an event called ‘Hi, Speed’ on 13th October, 10am local pacific time.
Usually, Apple’s phones are put on sale one week after they are revealed, however, this year the company might deviate from the usual schedule and alter the release date accordingly.
The name “Hi, Speed” could be an indication to the high-speed internet capabilities of the first 5G iPhone; the title could also be an indication towards the power of the new chips that are expected to arrive.

The invitation to the Apple event also showcase an illustration showing concentric circles, in orange and blue colours. The colours could be an indication of the new shades and colors that are expected to be introduced with the new iPhones.

New features may include a redesign following the iPad Pro’s rectangular shape, improved processing power alongside other upgrades and a LiDAR sensor for depth, and enhanced processing power.

Apple may use the event to also introduce and showcase other products. Apple is rumoured to be working on new audio hardware and headphone versions of the AirPods, along with an upgraded HomePod; as well as other accessories like tracking token that can be added to items such as keys.
The event will be held online, like Apple’s previous two events and the introduction will probably take the form of a video filmed at its Apple Park campus.
