Here’s what Apple has in store for you for next year:
iOS 16 is being dubbed as the biggest update ever for the devices, which includes the lock screen, new intelligence features, communication and new sharing experiences.
Moreover, this update includes the new iCloud Shared Photo Library so that family and friends can share pictures and collections seamlessly with one another. Other updates include Live Text, Visual Look Up, Mails and Messages.
The aim of releasing this update was to enhance the overall user experience that will change the way how users use their iPhones.
Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering Craig Federighi shared:
iOS 16 is a big release with updates that will change the way you experience iPhone. We have reimagined how the Lock Screen looks and works with exciting new features that make it more personal and helpful, introduced iCloud Shared Photo Library for families, streamlined communication through new capabilities in Messages and Mail, and harnessed enhanced intelligence with updates to Live Text and Visual Look Up.
Personalized Lock-Screen Experience
The update takes the lock screen experience to a whole new level. The multilayer effect adds a beautiful artistic touch to make the elements stand out. The widgets are inspired by the Apple Watch, they include upcoming calendar events, the weather, battery levels, alarms, time zones, Activity ring progress, and more.
Moreover, users will have the freedom to use their favourite emojis or colour combinations and switch between images with a simple tap. Notifications have moved and will now roll up from below, this will give users a clearer view of the lock screen.
Focus ties the lock screen and widgets in a way that filters apps like Calendar, Mail, Messages, and Safari to bring forward content that is relevant to the user as compared to the other content.
Apple Pay Later
Apple Pay Later provides users in the US with a seamless and secure way to split the cost of an Apple Pay purchase into four equal payments spread over six weeks, with zero interest and no fees of any kind.
