VITAL Pakistan Trust Hosts “Pink Tea” to Champion Women’s Health and Wellness

by Ayesal A

In a lively and colorful celebration of women’s healthcare, empowerment, and freedom of choice, VITAL Pakistan Trust (VPT) hosted its annual Pink Tea event, “Sip & Support,” at a beautiful and ambient dining locale. The gathering brought together leading women from both industry and society to promote maternal and child health and highlight the necessity of early awareness as well as wellness initiatives.

The event opened with a welcome speech by Mr. Peter Joaquim Lobo, Director of Resource Development and Communication at VPT, followed by an overview of VPT’s impressive journey shared by Mr. Akbar Rajani, Chief Executive Officer.

Since its inception, VITAL Pakistan Trust has provided 445,811 pregnancy care services, safely delivered 51,551 babies, immunized 482,025 children, and counselled 908,604women for birth spacing, with 397,416 women availing birth spacing services across Karachi and Sindh. These milestones reflect the organization’s ongoing and steadfast commitment to improving maternal and child health outcomes in marginalized communities.

The evening featured an engaging lineup, including a talk called “Midlife Matters: Navigating Change, Health and Wellbeing” by Dr. Nida Najmi (Assistant Professor Obstetrics and Gynecology, AKU), another talk called “The Women Behind Success: Mental Health, Emotional Resilience and Wellbeing in Business” by Dr. Uroosa Talib (Consultant Psychiatrist and Chief Operating Officer, Caravan of Life Pakistan Trust), a third talk called “Putting Yourself First: A Woman’s Wellbeing” by Ms. Hina Bayat, a woman who wears the hats of both actor and anchor, activist and humanitarian, and who emphasized women’s empowerment and the need for continued advocacy in healthcare. Mr. Peter Lobo gave closing remarks and opened the floor to a charity auction of some jewelry pieces by Ms. Meena Patel of Mandalay International.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Rajani said, “At VITAL Pakistan Trust, we believe empowering women with knowledge and access to care is key to building healthier families and communities.”

The event concluded with tea, networking, and shared reflections on collective efforts to support healthcare for mothers and children. Through initiatives like Pink Tea, VITAL Pakistan Trust continues to inspire partnerships and dialogue that help advance healthcare equity for women and children.
