The Apple Podcasts app on my iPhone remained unused for the longest time until someone suggested listening to a podcast, and here I was, scrolling through hundreds of options, discovering a completely new means of entertainment. The best part about podcasts? You can listen to it while you’re getting ready for work, driving to work, at the gym, or even before going to bed.
Locally, we don’t have a lot of people involved in producing podcasts. However, there are a plethora of options available internationally. I figured listening to motivational podcasts early in the day puts me in the right mindset and really kickstarts my day. On days when you need help to get out of your bed, you could do the same. Below are 5 podcasts that are hosted by women and are specially set for women:
1 – Encyclopedia Womannica
Encyclopedia Womannica is hosted by WMN co-founder and award-winning journalist Jenny Kaplan. Each episode of the show is a five-minute lesson on a brilliant woman you may not know, but most would want to.
2 – Unladylike
Launched in 2017, Unladylike is still going strong up till today because of its popularity with women. The podcast is hosted by Cristen Conger and Caroline Ervin, where they discuss old-fashioned ideas that might be considered crude, unrefined, or even vulgar for women to discuss.
3 – Anna Faris is Unqualified
Hosted by Anna Faris, Anna Faris is unqualified is truly a super insightful podcast. Anna chats with women of all ages and invites guests to share their life experiences with her listeners. The show is filled with funny humor, relatable tips on relationships, love, life, and whatever comes up in conversation really. A great listen indeed!
4 – Women Inspiring Women
Women Inspiring Women is a podcast for all girl bosses and, of course, for the aspiring ones. The podcast is hosted by Melanie Mitro, who dishes all details on how women can start their own business without formal training/formal degrees etc. The show is said to be truly inspiring and has helped many women pursue their passion and dreams.
5 – Radio Cherry Bombe
Radio Cherry Bombe is a female-fronted podcast that digs deep into all things about the female perspective of food hosted by co-founder and editorial director of the Radio Cherry Bombe food magazine, Kerry Diamond. In the show, Kerry chats with people from the food world and makes it fun and informative. The kind of guests you should expect from the show?
