Lassi

Lassi is the regional name given to buttermilk, a traditional sub-continental drink which is pretty sweet (or salty).  Lassi helps keep consumers hydrated because of its cool properties, and is far more recommended to consume in the scorching hot weather as compared to tea or coffee.

Moreover, this drink has many health benefits as well because it’s mainly organic and healthy has no preservatives and comes in delicious flavours as well.

If you are in no mood to step outside to grab a glass, then you don’t have to worry as today we will share 3 delicious recipes to help you beat the heat in Pakistan!

1. Mango Lassi

In order to make a mango-flavoured drink, you’ll need:

  • Mango pulp or mango chunks
  • Greek Yogurt (natural)
  • Ice cubes
  • Whole Milk
  • Sugar (as per taste)

Start off by taking a cup and pouring a full cup of mango pulp, or use the chunks so that we don’t have too much or too little of the beverage. Once measured, pour it into a blender. Then, use the same cup to measure a full cup of yoghurt. Again, pour it into the blender, and add the ice cubes.

Blend the mixture until it’s smooth, if you want it to be runny, add half a cup of whole milk and blend it again. If you are happy with the thickness and texture, you are not required to use the milk. Finally, pour the blended concoction into a glass and enjoy refreshing homemade lassi whenever you’d like.
